Students at Girls’ College are required to participate in at least one sport and one club / cultural activity in each of the three terms.

Extra-Curricular Activities

At the senior level, the school often restricts the number of sports and clubs a student can participate in. This policy is to aid students in managing their time and to prevent them from overcommitting. Where clubs/societies are less demanding, students may sign up for more.

Sports Offering

The College has a six-lane/25 metre Swimming Pool, seven all-weather Tennis Courts, two Basketball courts, two all-weather Netball Courts, a Volleyball Court and a grassed field which can carry three Hockey fields or a 400 metre Athletics track. Squash takes place at the nearby Squash Courts, and Golf at the local Golf Club. The College also makes use of the artificial turf for Hockey at the Khumalo Hockey Stadium

Girls’ College offers the following sports – Aerobics, Athletics, Basketball, Chess, Cricket, Cross Country, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Power Walking, Soccer, Squash, Swimming, Tennis and Water-Polo.

Club and Cultural Activities Offering

Girls College offers the following clubs and cultural activities – Amnesty International, Choir, Computer Programming / Robotics, Debate, Drama and Short Films, Engineering, Etiquette, First Aid, Green Committee, History Society, Interact, Junior Achievement, Listener’s Circle, Mandarin, Marimbas, Media, Model United Nations, Orchestra, Public Speaking, Scripture Union, Toastmasters, Wildlife and Young Leaders Society.

A number of our students also participate in private sporting and activities outside of school that, although we cannot run, we recognise. These include Ballet, Ballroom Dancing, BMX, Horse-Riding, Karate, Pistol Shooting and Polo- Cross.

Girls’ College is affiliated with the Zimbabwe Academy of Music. The Academy teachers come to Girls’ College and teach any of the following instruments – Drums, Flute, Guitar, Marimba, Mbira, Piano, Recorder, Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet, Ukelele, Voice and Violin.
