Girls’ College follows the curriculum set by the Cambridge Assessment International Education Board (CAIE), which was formally known as Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). At the end of their fourth year (Year 10) students write the Cambridge International General Certificate in Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations that are set and marked externally by CAIE. IGCSE is the world’s most popular international curriculum for 14-16 year olds, leading to globally recognised and valued Cambridge IGCSE qualifications.
On passing the IGCSE examinations, students select between 3 - 4 subjects to focus on for their Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level and then their Advanced (A) Level. A few students opt to carry 5 subjects at AS Level and then go on to complete 4 choice subjects at A Level.
In Form Five / Lower Six, students also have the option to choose the City and Guilds Business Administration route. These qualifications cover the essentials of business administration, from event support to project management, enabling the learner to provide administrative support in a range of environments.
