Administrative and Financial Information
Girls' College hopes the information outlined below will be of use for anyone who has a daughter at our school or intends enrolling their daughter.
During school term: 7:15am to 4:00pm
During school holidays: 8:00am to 1:00pm (first and last weeks of the holidays - 8:00am to 4:00pm)
We operate an open door policy during office hours. There is no need to make an appointment to see one of the office staff.
School accounts are payable in full on or before the first day of term. Students will need a clearance certificate (issued at time of payment) to gain entry to class or to the Hostel at the beginning of each term.
Girls' College maintains accounts with the following Zimbabwean registered banks :-
- EcoBank (formerly known as Premier Bank)
- MBCA Bank
- NMB Bank

Girls' College offers an extra payment facility via Ecocash. The Girls' College Ecocash Merchant/Billing number is 42804.
Bus Charges - any pupil using the school bus for trips outside Bulawayo will be charged at an economic rate as decided by the Administrator. The College operates a bus service to and from the City Hall for girls who use public transport. This operates on a ticket system and tickets have to be obtained from the School Payments Office.
Books - all textbooks and exercise books are provided by the College. As these are now an expensive and scarce commodity, girls are expected to treat books with due care. All textbooks and library books are covered with plastic to increase their length of usage. Missing textbooks are charged to parents at the current replacement value. However, replacing the lost book with a new copy is preferred by most departments.
School Absenteeism - any absence from school, for health or any other reason, must be reported to the school office on the first day of absence and followed up with a written excuse note. Any absence longer than two days will require a doctor’s letter.
Withdrawal Of Student From School - it is obligatory to give a full term’s notice in writing by not later than the first day of term of the intention to withdraw a pupil from the school at the end of that term. If this is not done parents may be liable to pay one full term’s fees and charges in lieu of notice.
If a pupil is withdrawn during the course of a term, the pupil is still liable for full fees during that term. No refund of a portion of the term’s fees can be considered by the College, unless there are special extenuating circumstances.
Application for remission of fees would have to be lodged in writing and would be considered by the executive committee of the Girls’ College Board of Trustees.
Below you can find an outline of the various fees Girls' College charges. Being both a day scholar and boarding school, Girls' College charges two school fees, depending on the student type:-
School Fee for Day Scholars - US$2450.00 (per term) *
The above tuition fees includes tuition; text books or access to e-books and exercise books; sports coaching and are inclusive of the P.A. (Parents Assembly) Development Levy.
School Fee for Boarders - US$5460.00 per term (consisting of US$2450.00 tuition and US$3010.00 boarding) *
The above fee for Boarders includes the Hostel Levy; lodging; furniture and soft furnishings with the exception of linen, all meals as well as a break time snack.
* Note - these school fees are currently subject to Ministerial approval, but have parental approval *
For new students Girls' College charges a Registration and Acceptance fee. Both fees are one off payments as detailed below:-
Registration Fee - US$50.00 (one off payment)
US$1000.00 for day scholars in Forms 1 to 4;
US$750.00 for day scholars in Forms Lower & Upper 6;
US$1500 for boarders in Forms 1 to 4;
US$1250 for boarders in Forms Lower & Upper 6
The Acceptance Fee is a non-refundable fee which contributes to the capital development of the school
