Christian Brothers College (C.B.C.) did an excellent job hosting the 2016 tournament and their facilities were top notch. In one of the photos below you will see a newly constructed modular metal walkway that can quickly be installed for water polo matches. This walkway allows the match referees to have much closer access to any of the matches and you can view its installation at the C.B.C. Facebook page here.

The day was filled with excitement and some fantastic junior water polo skills. After all the official tournament matches were over, the C.B.C. and Falcon College boys put on an exhibition match to the enjoyment of all those who attended. Chisipite proved to be the better players this year and deservedly won the two tournament trophies, The Beare Shield and The Hammond Trophy. Hellenic Academy came in second with Girls' College third.

An important aspect of this tournament is that it is used to make selections for the U14 & U15 Zimbabwe national teams. These selections are announced at the end of the day's matches and Girls' College is very proud to announce that Megan Beattie (U14), Lizay Muller (U14), Savanah du Preez (U15) and Wandile Banda (U15) were selected to represent their respective national sides. Great job girls!

Congratulations must also go to U14 players Kiera Stander (Chisipite), Hannah Van Rooyen (Chisipite), Erin Butler (Chisipite), Erin Goldsmith (Chisipite), Paige Van De Westhuizen (Chisipite), Cheyanne Impey Marais (Chisipite), Sydnie Hammond (Chisipite), Katie Coaton (Hellenic), Savannah Whittaker (Hellenic), and Paige Cornish (Hellenic) who were also selected to represent the Zimbabwean national U14 side. The U14 non-traveling reserve is Zara Zwart (Hellenic).

Selected players for the Zimbabwean U15 national side were Chelsey Hunter (Chisipite), Donna-Lee Van Oudtshoorn (Chisipite), Carla Goodinson (Chisipite), Jorja Jones (Chisipite), Mkudzei Watambgwa (Chisipite), Kianna Melvin (Chisipite), Samantha Hoal (Chisipite), Gemma Schonken (Hellenic), Isabella Savo (Hellenic), and Sasha Gemmill (Hellenic), with non-traveling reserve Tyla Falkenburg (Hellenic).

Full results for Girls' College can be viewed in the tables below along with a few photos taken during the tournament. A full gallery of photos will be published soon. Well done girls! Enjoy!

U14 team member Megan Beattie submitted the following report which summarised the team's exploits:

"Report on Trip to St. Stithians 2016

At twelve noon on Wednesday 19th October 2016 we met at the school bus ready and excited to go to J. Nkomo airport. We arrived at J. Nkomo International airport, where we boarded an Air Zimbabwe flight to Johannesburg. After a hair raising, bumpy flight (turbulence) we arrived safely at O.R. Tambo airport. We were collected and taken to a very nice hotel called Road Lodge where we spent our first night.

The next morning we made our way to St. Stithians College where we registered for the water polo tournament and had a practice session. Our 1st game of the tournament was at 6pm which we sadly lost.

Friday morning we were up bright and early ready for our next three pool games. Unfortunately we lost these three games as well, but with each game we were learning more and more.

Saturday  was another tough day of water polo, we lost the two scheduled games for the day and were left playing for 9th & 10th position on Sunday. Sunday we came back fighting, winning our final game and coming 9th.

After some tough few days of water polo we finally got to the mall, where we spent the day shopping. Later on Sunday we went to Monte Casino where we were lucky enough to get to watch the show Annie.

On Monday were at the airport at 6:00am for our return journey. We had a very pleasant flight and were all safely back at school by 12 noon.

Thank you to our parents and the College for allowing us this opportunity. Thank you also to the coaches and management team for an amazing trip."
