Girls' College Open Day 2017

British Council is the United Kingdom's international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities. British Council invites students, parents and local training institutions to the following exhibitions hosted by Education UK. Admission is free.

Weekend Tennis, Chess & Athletics Results For Friday 20 January & Saturday 21 January

On Friday 20 January 2017 the Girls' College U14, U15, U16 & 1st Teams tennis played in a friendly against Falcon College. The U14 & 1st Teams hosted Falcon College at Girls' College, while the U15 & U16 teams travelled to play at Falcon College.

On Saturday 21 January Girls' College hosted the Girls' College Invitational Chess Tournament. There were 14 teams in each category, namely Junior Boys, Senior Boys, Junior Girls & Senior Girls. In the Junior Girls category, Girls' College was placed 11th and 13th, while in the Senior Girls category Girls' College finished 8th, 9th and 13th.

Congratulations to our chess teams as Girls' College was awarded the trophy for the 'Most Disciplined Team'. Our chess captain Chervaughn Nduna collected this trophy.

Over the weekend of Friday 20 & Saturday 21 January a select athletics team travelled to Louis Trichardt, South Africa to compete in an athletics meet. Girls' College athletes competed against Louis Trichardt Girls, Ridgeway College, Merensky and Eric Louw. Our talented athletes did us proud and were awarded a total of 15 Gold, 3 Silver and 5 Bronze Medals. Vanessa Moyo was named Best Junior Athlete. We are so proud of you all!

Weekend Water Polo Results For 21 January

On Saturday 21 January 2017 the Girls' College U15 & U16 water polo teams travelled to Christian Brothers' College (C.B.C.) where they had a full morning of competition, not only against Falcon College (Falcon), but also Christian Brothers College. Congratulations must be extended to both our teams who competed so well against both Falcon and C.B.C, having only lost 1 of their 6 games. You junior girls out did yourselves again and Girls' College is very proud of your performance!

Over the same weekend our Girls' College U19s travelled to Harare to compete in the U19 Invitational Water Polo Tournament at St. Johns College where we won 1 of our 3 matches. Well done girls! Congratulations must be extended to Megan KeefeJaimee MaidwellMelissa Viljoen, Rebecca Nash and Brittney Van der Walt who were selected to represent Zimbabwe in the national U19A and B teams.

Pitch Night With African Leadership University (ALU)

"African Leadership University is building a reputation for being the university of the future and is focused on educating Africa's future leaders."

In collaboration with Educate:Funding The Future, Girls' College students and their parents are invited to meet Sibusiso Shongwe (Head of Southern Africa Recruitment) for ALU for an evening of discussion and questions related to studying at ALU and financing such study.

Entrance and coffee is free for all Girls' College staff and students. Don't miss this valuable opportunity
